01

Introduction

CashKeeper ("the app", "we", "our") is a personal budget tracker for Android, published by [Joynul Abedin] on Google Play. This Privacy Policy applies to the CashKeeper Android application (package name com.cashkeeper.wallet) and this website.

CashKeeper is built to work entirely offline by default. Your transactions, budgets, and lending records are stored in a local database on your device. An optional Google sign-in lets you back that data up to a private cloud store so you can restore it on a new device — nothing is sent anywhere unless you turn that on.

02

Information we collect

Financial data you enter

Income and expense transactions, categories, tags, amounts, dates, budget limits, and records of money lent to or borrowed from others. By default this data stays in a local database on your device and is never transmitted to us or anyone else.

Account information (only if you sign in)

Signing in with Google is entirely optional and only needed to enable cloud backup. If you choose to sign in, we receive:

  • Your name and email address, as provided by Google
  • A unique account identifier used to link your backup to you

Backed-up financial data

If you enable cloud backup, the same transactions, lending/borrowing entries, and category budgets described above are copied to a private, per-account cloud database so they can be restored later. This is only stored if you actively choose to sign in and back up.

What we don't collect

CashKeeper does not include advertising SDKs, analytics/tracking libraries, or device fingerprinting. We do not access your contacts, photos, location, or files unless you explicitly export or import data through a file picker you control.

03

How we use your information

  • To operate the core features of the app — recording and displaying your budget and transactions
  • To authenticate you and keep your cloud backup tied to your account, if you enable it
  • To restore your data if you reinstall the app or switch devices, if you enable backup
  • To maintain the security and integrity of the backup service (for example, verifying requests come from the genuine app)

We do not use your financial data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the app's own features to you.

04

Storage & security

Local data lives in an on-device database and is protected by your device's own security (lock screen, encryption at rest, etc., as provided by Android).

Cloud backup data, if you enable it, is stored using Google's Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore. Access rules on that database are configured so that only you, authenticated as the account owner, can read or write your own records — no other user or account can access your data, and we do not have a separate admin channel that bypasses this rule. Requests to the backup service are additionally verified using Firebase App Check to help block traffic from anything other than the genuine CashKeeper app.

05

Sharing of data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We do not share your financial data with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties for their own purposes.

Your information is only processed by the infrastructure providers described in the next section, strictly to provide the app's own functionality, and by us if required to comply with a legal obligation, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety, and security of our users.

06

Third-party services

CashKeeper relies on the following infrastructure providers, used only to deliver the sign-in and backup features described above:

  • Google Sign-In — used to authenticate you if you choose to enable cloud backup
  • Firebase Authentication (Google) — manages your signed-in session
  • Cloud Firestore (Google) — stores your backup data, access-restricted to your account
  • Firebase App Check (Google) — helps verify that backup requests come from a genuine copy of the app

These providers process data on our behalf under Google's own privacy and security commitments. You can review Google's practices in the Google Privacy Policy.

07

App permissions

CashKeeper requests only the minimum Android permissions needed to function:

  • Internet access — needed to sign in and sync with cloud backup, when you enable it
  • Network state — lets the app check connectivity before attempting a sync

The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, SMS, or call logs. When you export or import a backup file (CSV/JSON), Android's standard file picker is used, which only grants access to the specific file you select.

08

Your choices & rights

  • Use it fully offline. Signing in is never required to track your budget — cloud backup is opt-in.
  • Export your data. You can export your transactions to a local file at any time from within the app.
  • Sign out. Signing out stops any further sync; your local data on the device is unaffected.
  • Delete your data. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from your device. To permanently delete your account and any cloud-backed-up data, see Delete your account & data below — you can do this in the app or from the web, without needing to reinstall it.
  • Access or correct your data. Your data is visible to you directly within the app at all times.
09

Delete your account & data

You can permanently delete your CashKeeper account and any data backed up to the cloud in either of two ways. Deleting your account also deletes the associated cloud data — we don't keep a copy after deletion.

Option A — In the app

Open CashKeeper → Profile → Delete Account. You'll see a confirmation with a short countdown before the deletion is carried out, so you have a chance to cancel if you tap it by mistake.

Option B — From the web, without the app installed

If you no longer have the app installed, you can request deletion from your browser instead:

Request account deletion →

What gets deleted: your account (name, email, sign-in identifier) and all cloud-backed-up transactions, budgets, and lending records tied to it. Local data already stored on a specific device is untouched by this and is removed by uninstalling the app from that device.

Requests submitted through the web form are processed within [5 business days].

10

Data retention

Local data is retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Cloud backup data is retained until you request deletion or delete your account, so that it remains available to restore on a new device in the meantime.

11

Children's privacy

CashKeeper is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example as the app gains new features. We'll update the "Effective" date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
